GBP/USD - Analysis, Outlook and Forecasts

GBP/USD (British Pound - US Dollar) outlook and forecast is presented by the team of ForexAbode's analysts and is followed by the traders around the world. GBP/USD Outlook The British Pound - US Dollar (GBP/USD) remained in a very volatile sideways mode below the recent high of 1.6309. After remaining over the 22-day EMA support for some days, the pair ultimately broke below that support and went as low as 1.6113 though did not sustain below that.

GBP/USD Today Today's outlook for GBP/USD: The currency pair had gone down as low as 1.6137 but found support just above the 22-day EMA (yellow line in the daily chart below). The strong jump from that support took GBP/USD to 1.6258. Please note that the recent high was 1.6309 which was slightly higher than the previous high of April 30th i.e.

GBP/USD Outlook:   The British Pound - US Dollar (GBP/USD) broke over the psychological resistance of 1.6000 first time after breaking below it on May 15th. The currency pair went as high as 1.6034 before closing for the week bullishly at 1.6010. The break of 1.6000 indicates a near-term bullish outlook and we expect some further gains towards the next resistance zone of 1.6055/1.6066 before any attempt towards 1.6300/1.6315 is made.

GBP/USD Outlook:  The British Pound - US Dollar (GBP/USD) moved as indicated during the last weekend. The currency pair moved up to the mentioned 61.8% retracement. GBP/USD then found resistance in the mentioned resistance zone of 1.5905/1.5920 and fell from 1.5912. The fall took it to as low as 1.5808 and some support came at 5-day EMA (green EMA line in the above chart). The weekly closing was bearish at 1.5811 i.e.

GBP/USD Outlook:   The British Pound - US Dollar (GBP/USD) could not break above the high of last to last week i.e. 1.5767 and had fallen sharply. On the other side the currency pair's fall failed to retest the previous low of 1.5458 and almost an equally strong upward jump came from 1.5490.

GBP/USD Outlook:   British Pounds-US Dollar (GBP/USD) went as low as 1.5458 ( 8 pips above the support mentioned by us last week) but jumped up strongly to 1.5767 before closing for the week at 1.5748. Overall outlook for GBP/USD stays neutral as the currency pair has been in a volatile sideways mode since July 15th but the break of the high of July 19th i.e. 1.5737 increases the possibilities of some more upward move.

GBP/USD - Technical and market perception: 1. ADX: GBP/USD daily +DI and -DI lines have had 5 quick and unconvincing crossovers since middle of June.
